Mothers

A space to be seen, as everything changes.

Mother-to-mother photography with Annie, created through pregnancy and the early months with your baby.

The experience

This is your story too.

Pregnancy and early motherhood can make everything feel centred on the baby. Mothers creates space for you—to be heard, celebrated and photographed with care.

Every experience is private and photographed by Annie, mother to three. She understands how vulnerable, powerful and transformative this season can feel, and will shape the experience around you and how you feel that day.

You don’t need to arrive feeling confident or know how to pose. Annie will guide you gently, listen carefully and create photographs that feel personal, expressive and entirely your own.

A space to feel seen, uplifted and empowered.

Two chapters. One changing story.

Mothers follows you from pregnancy into the first months with your baby. Each experience can be booked separately, or together as one continuing journey with Annie.

Maternity

An expressive portrait experience centred on you, your changing body and the transformation of pregnancy.

Created outdoors, at home or within a private interior, every Maternity experience is shaped around your comfort, personality and desired level of intimacy.

Early Days

A gentle experience at home, centred on the developing connection between you and your baby.

Feeding, holding, resting, comforting and learning one another are all part of the story. Nothing is staged around baskets, costumes or conventional newborn poses.

Annie

Mother to mother.

Every Mothers experience is created and photographed by Annie alone. That private, one-to-one space allows conversation, trust and confidence to grow naturally.

Annie is a mother of three. She brings her own lived experience of pregnancy, birth and early motherhood—but never assumes that another woman’s experience will look or feel like hers.

She’ll listen to what this chapter has been like for you, understand what you feel comfortable with and gently guide you throughout. Some women want something quiet and reflective. Others want to feel wild, powerful or playful. The experience develops around the woman who arrives.

There is no single way to feel pregnant—or to become a mother.

Maternity

Personal, expressive and entirely your own.

Before the experience, Annie will talk with you about how pregnancy has felt, what you’d like to remember and the kinds of photographs that move you. You can share a few visual references, but they become a starting point—not a set of images to reproduce.

Your Maternity experience might be wild and windswept beside the sea, quiet and intimate at home, or move between an indoor space and the landscape. Annie will help choose the setting, clothing, light and atmosphere around you, the season and your desired level of intimacy.

You’re welcome to bring clothes that have made you feel good during pregnancy. Annie also brings a small, evolving collection of dresses and fabrics to explore together. Nothing is prescribed, and no garment or pose is forced simply because it worked for somebody else.

You remain in control of what you wear, how much you reveal and what is photographed throughout.

Feeling leads. Styling follows.

Early Days

At home, learning one another.

The earliest months are full of small beginnings: the way your baby settles against you, the pauses while feeding, the tired cuddles and the gestures already becoming familiar.

Annie comes to your home and follows the natural pace of you and your baby. There is time to feed, change, comfort, rest or stop whenever you need to. Your baby doesn’t need to sleep or behave in a particular way.

The photographs centre on your developing connection. Annie may gently guide you towards better light or help you find a comfortable position, but there are no baskets, costumes, decorative sets or conventional newborn poses.

Your home doesn’t need to be large, spotless or beautifully styled. A bed, a sofa, a window or a quiet doorway can hold everything the photographs need. When it feels right, a few images can also be made immediately outside—in the garden, courtyard or on the doorstep.

Your home doesn’t need to be ready. It already holds the story.

Two connected experiences: Maternity during pregnancy, followed by Early Days at home after your baby arrives.

A £100 payment reserves your booking.
The remaining payments are due before each experience.

The mother remains the heart of the story.

That focus is intentional. Keeping these experiences small and private creates the space for greater trust, intimacy and connection.

Maternity

Maternity is created for you alone with Annie. A trusted companion is welcome when you need practical or emotional support, but they won’t be part of the planned photography.

Early Days

Early Days centres on you and your baby. A partner can remain nearby and may appear naturally in a small number of photographs.

If you’d like existing children, your partner and the wider family to be photographed together, a Family Story will usually be the more natural fit.

FAQs

A few things you might be wondering

When should I book my Maternity experience?

Many women choose to be photographed around 30–35 weeks, but this is guidance rather than a cutoff. Annie will plan around your pregnancy, comfort and individual circumstances. If you’re earlier or later, you haven’t necessarily missed the opportunity.

When does Early Days take place?

Early Days is ideally photographed during your baby’s first four months and normally before six months. We don’t choose the exact date before birth. Annie will check in gently, and you can arrange the experience when you feel physically and emotionally ready.

What if I don’t feel confident in front of the camera?

Most women don’t arrive knowing how to pose or feeling completely confident. Annie will guide you throughout, allowing confidence to develop gradually rather than expecting it from the beginning.

What should I wear?

You can bring favourite pregnancy clothes, meaningful pieces or anything that makes you feel good. Annie also has a small, evolving collection of dresses and fabrics to explore together. Nothing is compulsory, and the styling is created around you.

Where will the photographs take place?

Maternity can take place outdoors, at your home, in a private interior available to Folkship, or across a planned combination. A specifically hired venue can also be arranged at an additional agreed cost.

Early Days always takes place at home and, when appropriate, immediately outside in a garden, courtyard or doorway.

Can my partner or children be included?

Maternity is centred on you, while Early Days is centred on you and your baby. A trusted companion can attend Maternity for support, and a partner may appear naturally in a few Early Days photographs.

If you’d like existing children and the wider family to be actively photographed, we’ll usually recommend a Family Story instead.

Your story

Let’s remember how this felt.

Whether you’re waiting for your baby or already finding your way through the early days, tell Annie a little about where you are and what you’d love to remember.

She’ll listen, answer your questions and help you choose the experience that feels right.
