About Folkship

Folkship is a family photography studio based in Cornwall, led by Annie and Danny.

The work grew from our own family life — a desire to slow down, stay close to nature, and hold onto how these years feel.

Where it began

Folkship began quietly, alongside our own growing family.

Like many parents, we became more aware of how quickly time moves — how seasons pass, children change, and moments slip by almost unnoticed.

Photography became a way of paying attention.
A way of slowing down, stepping outside, and noticing what was already there.

How we work

We photograph families outdoors, on location in nature, working with the rhythm of the day rather than against it.

Sessions are gently guided and responsive — sometimes calm, sometimes full of movement — shaped by the people we’re with and the place we’re in.

Our approach is relaxed and collaborative.

There’s no pressure to perform, and no expectation to be anything other than yourselves.

What matters

What matters most to us is honesty.

Photographs that feel real.
Images that hold onto connection, play, and togetherness — not perfection.

We believe photographs become more meaningful with time.
They’re something to return to, long after the moment has passed.

Folkship is shaped by family life, the Cornish landscape, and the changing seasons.

We feel grateful to photograph families who want to remember this chapter of life as it is now.
