Toes in the sand, splashing in the sea and plenty of giggles.
Annie met this family at Maenporth Beach near Falmouth on the morning of 12 September, soaking up the last of the warm summer days. It was their favourite beach, somewhere they could simply enjoy being together.
That was all this session needed to begin. A familiar place, room to play and time to notice the little things that make this stage of family life their own.
A morning on their favourite beach
There’s something lovely about making family photographs somewhere you already love. The setting becomes part of your story, carrying memories of other visits as well as the morning we spend together.
At Maenporth, that meant sandy feet, sea splashes and the easy joy of being outside. A boy perched on his dad’s shoulders, his mum looking up at him. Small moments of connection that say so much about being a family.
We love photographs that bring you back to how something felt. The closeness, the laughter and the pleasure of having everyone together, just as they are.
Space to be yourselves
A family photoshoot doesn’t need to feel like a performance. There’s no need for children to sit still throughout, or for every photograph to begin with everyone looking at the camera.
Before this session, a phone call with Annie helped the family feel at ease. On the beach, they could carry on doing the things they normally enjoy together while she photographed what unfolded.
That relaxed approach leaves room for the photographs you might expect, alongside the ones you couldn’t have planned. The glances, the movement and the little gestures that belong to you.
Photographs that grow more precious
After seeing their photographs, the family left these kind words in a Google review:
“We booked a family photo shoot on our favourite beach with Annie and were so happy with the photos she produced. She was brilliant to communicate with throughout and the phone call we had prior to the shoot put me completely at ease and she felt like someone I’d known for years. On the day she was relaxed and professional, allowing us to just do what we do normally as a family, but somehow capturing the most perfect shots that we’ll treasure forever!
I can’t recommend her enough and trying to justify reasons to book her again!”
They also shared something on Instagram that stayed with us:
“We adore them now but they’re going to become so precious in the future.”
It’s a beautiful way to describe what family photographs can become. A morning that feels familiar now, held onto for the years when the children are bigger and the details of this stage are harder to remember.
